Stonemason / Stone Fabricator – Australia

We are recruiting experienced Stonemasons / Stone Fabricators for an established Australian stone business.

This is a hands-on fabrication role working primarily with stone benchtops, countertops, bar tops, staircases and similar custom stone products.

This is not a traditional bricklaying or masonry construction role. We are specifically looking for skilled tradespeople with strong experience in stone fabrication and processing.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Measuring and preparing stone for fabrication
• Cutting and shaping stone to specifications
• Polishing, edging and finishing stone surfaces
• Fabricating kitchen benchtops, countertops and bar tops
• Fabricating stone components for staircases and other custom applications
• Joining and assembling fabricated stone components
• Reading measurements, plans and job specifications
• Operating stone cutting, shaping and polishing machinery
• Assisting with the installation of finished stone products
• Checking finished work for accuracy, quality and presentation
• Working safely and maintaining machinery, tools and work areas

What We're Looking For

You will need to be a genuinely skilled, hands-on stone fabricator who can demonstrate the quality of your work.

Ideally, you will have:

• At least 3 years of relevant stone fabrication experience
• Strong experience with kitchen benchtops/countertops and similar fabricated stone products
• Excellent cutting, shaping, polishing and finishing skills
• Experience using stone fabrication machinery
• CNC stone cutting/machining experience highly regarded
• Ability to work accurately from measurements and specifications
• Excellent attention to detail and quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills

The employer is looking for someone who understands the complete fabrication process and is confident working hands-on with stone and machinery — not simply someone with general construction or traditional masonry experience.
